Teaching

Rachel is the founder of a private voice and piano studio, where she has offered both in-home and in-studio lessons since 2008. Rachel is on the quest to help every student find his or her natural voice.  Confidence and excellent technique are the key points of singing, no matter the style. Rachel accepts students of all ages and experience levels.  All that is required is the desire to uncover your own greatness and vocal power.  Rachel helps her students explore all musical styles, from musical theatre to classical to pop.  Lessons are held weekly or bi-weekly, and range from 30-60 minutes in length.  Rachel works with her students to build a solid foundation of technique, while developing a diverse and functional musical repertoire.  Students put these lessons into practice in auditions and performances, as well as annual studio recitals.  Rachel also specializes in audition preparation.  Her students have been featured in national tours, professional Bay Area and New York theatre productions, and have gained admittance into some of the country’s most prestigious music and theatre university programs, such as Boston Conservatory, Eastman School of Music, Ithaca College, Rice University, Wagner College, UC Irvine, and New York University.

Rachel also accepts beginner to intermediate piano students.  Lessons focus on note-reading, music theory, development of repertoire, and (above all) how to play with great musicianship and feeling.
