Residents and the RA coordinate with a Faculty Affiliate on programs that incorporate NYU and New York City resources into their floor’s specific theme. The residents are also part of a special Writing the Essay class that incorporates the floor’s theme and events into writing projects. § Planned tours of various NYC theatres, including The Culture Project, the Skirball Theatre, and the Metropolitan Opera. § Took residents to mainstream theatre, such as the annual Shakespeare in the Park production, and also to more avant garde theatre, including The Wooster Group and Mabou Mines. § Facilitated community development on the floor by acting as a liaison between the residents, the Faculty Affiliate, and the Writing Instructor. Also through social programs such as Milk and Cookie Study Breaks, Root Beer Float Parties, Movie Nights, and trips to see fellow residents perform in musical or theatrical productions.
