Resident Assistant

§    Worked in a Residence Hall with 38 First Year students.

§    Led the All the World’s a Stage Explorations floor.  Explorations is a continuing education program that advocates a Living and Learning environment.  Residents and the RA coordinate with a Faculty Affiliate on programs that incorporate NYU and New York City resources into their floor’s specific theme.  The residents are also part of a special Writing the Essay class that incorporates the floor’s theme and events into writing projects.

§    Planned tours of various NYC theatres, including The Culture Project, the Skirball Theatre, and the Metropolitan Opera.

§    Took residents to mainstream theatre, such as the annual Shakespeare in the Park production, and also to more avant garde theatre, including The Wooster Group and Mabou Mines.

§    Facilitated community development on the floor by acting as a liaison between the residents, the Faculty Affiliate, and the Writing Instructor.  Also through social programs such as Milk and Cookie Study Breaks, Root Beer Float Parties, Movie Nights, and trips to see fellow residents perform in musical or theatrical productions.

Performing Arts Counselor

§       Was responsible for the care of sixteen ten-year-olds.  Led them in extra rehearsals, supervised their free time, and assisted in specialty classes such as American Sign Language, Stagecraft, Drama, Music, Dance, and Makeup.

§       Acted as an assistant and substitute for the Music Director.
